Dear Bacich Families,

Bacich conducts different types of emergency drills on a regular basis. The purpose is for teachers, staff, and students to be familiar with the various types of emergencies and the protocols to follow for each. Teachers and staff have age appropriate conversations with their classes prior to each type of drill. Teachers, staff, and students practice the precautions to follow in the case of an earthquake, fire, and lockdown.

Bacich also conducts one full evacuation drill each year. We will practice exiting the classrooms and buildings. Staff members all have roles during these emergency drills and are all placed into teams, such as Search and Rescue, First Aid, Student Supervision, and Student Release. On Tuesday, October 22nd, Bacich will conduct our full evacuation drill and we could use your help.

Bacich needs at least 100 parent volunteers to simulate arriving to school during our Full School Evacuation Drill and going through the Outdoor Student Release Process. You will not be removing your children from campus; students will return to class after the drill. Please sign-up under your child’s teacher to participate (if you have more than one child at Bacich, please sign up under only one teacher). You will receive a reminder and any additional details prior to the drill.

  • Date: Tuesday, October 22nd
  • Time: Morning – exact time TBA
  • Duration: 30-45 minutes

You may sign up for a family member or babysitter to participate in your place as long as they were already listed as an Emergency Contact in Aeries.

Thank you for your help so that we may practice the procedures and protocols that are currently in place to ensure your child is safe at school.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
