Next week at Bacich, we will celebrate Read Across America.
Read Across America is a reading initiative created by the National Education Association, which was launched in 1997. One part of the project is recognizing and celebrating National Read Across America Day. This day is observed in the United States and held on the school day closest to March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The focus of the initiative, which we will incorporate into our classroom reading is “Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers”.
This year, we will celebrate Read Across America for the entire week! Beginning on Monday, March 2nd and ending on Friday, March 6th, our Bacich Bears will celebrate our love of reading with good books and some school spirit. Each day next week, we have outlined a special theme (see below) and classrooms will enjoy a guest reader from our school community.
We hope you will join us in bringing reading into your homes next week and help your son or daughter remember to participate in the fun!
