Next week is National Teacher Appreciation Week.
In year’s past, our school families have decorated each and every teacher’s classroom door with an individual message during this special week. Teachers have had their favorite lunches or coffee drinks delivered to their classroom door. Families have joined together to bring a beautiful bouquet of flowers from their home gardens. This year will be different.
For forty-years, the National PTA has designated one week in May as a special time to honor people who have chosen education as their career choice where they can influence the lives of children in so many positive ways. It’s not a stretch to say that teachers change the lives of millions of children every day. They play a pivotal role in inspiring a lifelong love of learning and discovery.
This year more than ever, I recognize and appreciate the extraordinary work and commitment of our teachers and all that they do to make a difference in their student’s well-being and in their long term success. I hope you do too.
I invite you to take a moment to pause and consider the ways that your son or daughter’s teacher may have touched your child’s life this year. Send them a message of appreciation and let them know you care. I am sure that they would love to hear from you!
